How To Build A Timber Box For Your Backyard
If you love the outdoors and want to get creative in your backyard landscaping, then you'll love building a timber box! This project is a lot of fun and can be completed in just a few hours. Here's how to do it:
1. Start by gathering some old boards, beams, and other lumber that you have lying around your property. You'll need enough material for two timber boxes.
2. Measure out the size of the timber containers you want to build and mark the pieces accordingly. Cut the lumber to the specified dimensions using a saw or a power saw.

3. Assemble the timber box by attaching the boards together with wood screws or nails. Make sure that the timber box is level before completing the assembly.
4. Once the timber box is assembled, use wood filler or a sealer to fill any cracks or holes in the wood. Let the filler/sealer dry before spraying a coat of paint or finishing the project off with a sealant.
If you're going to build a timber box, you'll need some lumber. The dimensions of the box will largely depend on the size of the lumber you choose, but a basic rule of thumb is to use at least 1-1/2 inches of thickness for the sides and top, and 2 inches for the bottom.
You can also use 2x4s or 2x6s for the sides and top, but make sure they are at least 8 feet long so that they can form the base of your box. You'll also need some screws, nails, and hinges. NailGun or a power drill is helpful for installing screws and hinges; just be careful not to overdrive them or strip the heads.
